From the Lardeau Valley Historical Society

Please Welcome our New LVHS President, Jesalyn Tremblay!

Many of you know Jes because not only was she born in Meadow Creek but she also is a celebrated university graduate (supported by a prestigious Loran Scholars Foundation scholarship) and has been an extremely hard-working and committed  LVHS Board member since 2015. She has served as VP since 2021. The entire LVHS Board is proud to have her take on the leadership role.

Peter Jonker has served on the Board since 2010, the last nine years as President. He will continue as a Board member, focusing his energy more directly on the “Local History of Fishing and Fish Management” project.

The following year will be a transitional one as Jes learns the roles and responsibilities of the President and will be supported by Peter throughout this time. The official transition will take place within the voting process at the Annual General Meeting this coming year.

An immense thank you goes out to Peter for his many years of service to the museum, its board members, and the community as a whole. His commitment to the preservation of the history of the Lardeau Valley has been steadfast and for that, we are grateful.

Well done Peter and welcome Jesalyn!
