We at Wildsight are doing an old growth day of action in Nelson on September 28th at 1230-130. We will be walking a route around downtown, followed by a short rally, speakers, and an opportunity for folks to take action to protect our irreplaceable forests at MLA Brittny Anderson’s office. This is a critical moment for forests in British Columbia. Three years have passed since the B.C. government promised to work with First Nations to implement a paradigm-shift in forest stewardship laid out in the Old Growth Strategic Review. Yet the B.C. government has made little progress on their promises. In fact, most old growth remains on the chopping block. We will meet at Nelson city Hall and then march on Baker Street, followed by a short rally, speakers, and an opportunity for you to take action to protect our irreplaceable forests. We will meet at City Hall at 1230 and then go from there.
